There's No Boy Quite Like Levi Bee

Meet Levi Bee, a four-year old Labrador Retriever/Shepherd/Carolina dog, who most certainly will win your heart over with his humongous ears and broad smile. I mean, who could say no to that face? A boy of many breeds, Levi Bee is most true to his lively and gentle, adaptable and eager-to-please, Carolina breed heritage. Carolina dogs are non-aggressive pack animals and adapt well with other dogs and humans. By his nature, Levi is a well-behaved and calm boy, ready for anything, whether that be cuddling on your sofa during a night in, meeting the neighborhood dogs for a walk, or simply playing in the grass outside.

Just a dog looking to be included amongst a pack, Levi Bee sometimes tries to find his voice when the occasional mailman approaches and attempts to harmonize with the barks of other dogs. Levi may be part Shepard, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a real softy at heart. The so called “tough” Shepherd in him is spooked by loud noises and even the squeaks of squeaky toys may give him a fright. Although a bit skittish, he desperately wants to be loved and included as a part of your family. Thankfully, getting Levi to love you is a simple task. Levi only needs one thing: time. Once you have time together, the rest will be history. He will show you all of his love in the form of tail wagging and kisses when you return home and in snuggles on the couch. Levi adores all the love you can give him, especially if you give him all the behind-the-ear scratches, head rubs, Bully Sticks, and bones in the world. Don’t worry, the love you give will most certainly be returned from him.

Levi is great with other dogs and humans. Although his more gentle Carolina side would do best in a home with older, and calmer children. His preference for cats is still unknown, but he has never had an incident of aggressive interaction before. As his love of roaming the outdoors is too great, Levi would need a fenced in backyard to play till his heart’s content or be with someone who is willing to teach him in recall. In Hebrew, the name Levi means “joined in harmony.” True to his namesake, Levi Bee desires to be in a home with a family where there is already a dog. He is up to date on his current vaccinations, neutered, and has had no health problems. He is also completely house broken and leash trained.

Levi Bee was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Arkansas by a local sanctuary, where he was allowed to roam free during the day. Levi was taken in by PAWS New England in August 2018 and adopted to a family, but due to their inability to properly care for Levi, was unfortunately returned. Levi has been in his current foster family since June 2019 and has adjusted well. He has even begun playing with toys and on his way to learning the basic commands! He is still frightened with new people and may try to hide, but will come out of his shell with time.

Looking for your best friend? Levi Bee is still looking for his pack. I think you two should meet. I guarantee that there is no other boy quite like Levi Bee.
